General Informationallen writes "Well, we're drawing 2009 to a close. It's time for all you guys to be thinking about nominating or volunteering for board positions. The only pre-determined position for 2010 is President (Rodney Hess). Because of other commitments, all other positions are open. Positions are Secretary, Membership Director, Treasurer, Activities Director and (I really hate this) Webmaster. Tom, Cindy, Kay, Karie and Michael have done a WONDERFUL job this year, but it's definitely time for new blood. So, if you know someone willing to serve, or want to take an active role yourself, PM me with your nomination. Thanks!!"

We are planning to get a group together on Saturday December 5 at 9:00am at the Park entrance to go and scope out new routes and trails for the addition of a new trail on the Fortress Cliff side of the park.  Plans are to meet and get escorted by park rangers to the top of the cliff then ride the rim and find a access point that will allow us to enter the park with out to much dirt work.  We will post more info as the week continues also please encourage all hikers and runners that would be interested in helping.  If you are interested in helping please contact Matt Melvyn or myself via OTC website or at palodurocoe@gmail.com.  Thanks and lets hope for good weather .  Cris Villagomez

General Informationkennyg writes "Public Meeting, December 2nd at 5:30 PM
The City of Amarillo, Center City and Downtown Amarillo, Inc. invite you to attend a public meeting to discuss a proposed Downtown Amarillo streetscape project under the Texas Statewide Tranportation Enhancement Program.
Improvements include reconstruction of sidewalks, landscaping, street and pedestrian lighting, and street furniture along Polk St -10th Ave to 2nd Ave and 6th Ave- Polk St to Buchanan St.
Meeting will be held in the Globe-News Performing Arts Center Education Room at 500 S. Buchanan.

(This meeting would be an excellent opportunity to voice your opinion on bicycle and pedestrian concerns in Downtown on such topics as the need for bicycle racks, on pavement bicycle lanes & share the road markings, a link from Downtown to the Rock Island Rail Trail, etc.)"
