I went and drove the course today, even after all the snow, and they are free of ice and snow. As long as it doesn't snow again between now and Saturday, all the roads are clear for racing! The weather forecast for Saturday is 50 degrees and sunny as well, so its going to be a perfect day. I know you're tired of sitting indoors doing nothing due to bad weather. I definitely am. Come out and race!
Also, 575 Pizzeria will be giving the winner of the race FREE PIZZA, so the plan is to go eat together Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. So come out to 575 (behind Hastings on Georgia) and have a good time!
If anyone is interested, I will be riding out from CJHS for 1.5 hours or so before the race, so join me around 12:00 noon for a 'trainers' lap. If you don't know where CJHS is, (coming from Amarillo on I-27) take the Canyon Exit, come into town and drive on 23rd st. until you reach 4th Ave and take a right. Drive on 4th until you reach 8th st, and hang a left. Drive down 8th past Canyon intermediate school and keep going until you see Tennis Courts or Allsups. We will be parking across the street from Allsups in the school parking lot.
Hopefully, this is the first of many cool little events happening this year, so come out and let's have some fun.
Even though it was colder than expected, there was a good crowd that showed up today. Even some of the Texas Tech cycling team came up from Lubbock. Paul Marabito ended up breaking away and winning. All in all, it was a good day. We might be doing another one of these later in the year when it gets warmer.

Thanks for organizing the event Riley. I think it was a memorable ride for everyone - the coldest ride I have ever done.

right on guys. more to come.
what is something that you guys would be interested in doing? A TT? Another RR? Any course in mind?
I know theres the brickplant road stuff. It would be cool to do more of those to work on the TT. I know nothing about MTB, but I would love to throw one of those sometime as well. All your dirt riders, give me some tips on courses and stuff.
let me know, and lets try to organize another cool event for the future.

Anything on Sunday would be better for those who work in retail.
