We are planning to get a group together on Saturday December 5 at 9:00am at the Park entrance to go and scope out new routes and trails for the addition of a new trail on the Fortress Cliff side of the park.  Plans are to meet and get escorted by park rangers to the top of the cliff then ride the rim and find a access point that will allow us to enter the park with out to much dirt work.  We will post more info as the week continues also please encourage all hikers and runners that would be interested in helping.  If you are interested in helping please contact Matt Melvyn or myself via OTC website or at palodurocoe@gmail.com.  Thanks and lets hope for good weather .  Cris Villagomez

Just a reminder for anyone going to PDC to ride off-road this saturday.  The annual PD50 Trail Run starts at dusk and the 50 milers will be on the trail for most of the day. This event uses all trails except Capitol Peak Loops and the stretch on the Lighthouse trail after the GSL turn-off.  The trails are not closed for this event and the runners are spread out after the first couple of hours.  It's alright to ride the trails, just be courteous and attentive as these people are usually in a some kind of zone. Also be aware on the blind corners and fast descents.  I know there are going to be at least 400 runners participating in the 50 mile, 50k and 20k. Also,
some of the lower trails (Rojo Grande, Sunflower, Juniper Creekside) will still be muddy so try to avoid the excessive trail damage and keep to the higher trails.

Thanks!
