firemanjoe writes "Maverick Club needs bikes The Maverick Club has about 20 boys & girls that are participating in a new bicycle program. These kids have been on stationary bikes and treadmills in the gym working on conditioning. Now that we are approaching springtime, Juan Vasquez with the Maverick is trying to get some bikes, both road & mountain, together for the kids that do not have a bike. He is interested in any bike that is FREE and REPAIRABLE. If you have a bike that you would want to donate to the Maverick Club program or if you would be interested in working with these kids at some time, send me a PM or e-mail Juan at jvasquez@maverickclub.org
Juan's goals are to: teach them basic bike repair & maintenance get them involved in some races get them involved in the community "

allen writes "Well, we're drawing 2009 to a close. It's time for all you guys to be thinking about nominating or volunteering for board positions. The only pre-determined position for 2010 is President (Rodney Hess). Because of other commitments, all other positions are open. Positions are Secretary, Membership Director, Treasurer, Activities Director and (I really hate this) Webmaster. Tom, Cindy, Kay, Karie and Michael have done a WONDERFUL job this year, but it's definitely time for new blood. So, if you know someone willing to serve, or want to take an active role yourself, PM me with your nomination. Thanks!!"
